We have outsourced the software development of our app to a Brazilian company with whom we like working together very much. Therefore, our main focus lies on the specification, overall management, content production and financing. We are doing all this in our spare time.

As a biologist Gernot is the initiator of the App and responsible for its contents including most of the photos.

Product Management & CTO & Marketing

With an IT background Stefan builds the bridge between consumer and development and takes care of all technical matters.

Richard (our Dad) greatly supports us in the content production, classification and also contributes many photos.

Ángel is one of the leading entomologists of Costa Rica. He verifies identifications of beetles and contributes many insect photos.

Carlos is an enthusiastic zoologist and is executive director of the Lindsay Wildlife Experience. He contributes with many insect photos as well as content.

Erwin Holzer

Erwin is an Austrian beetle specialist and Costa Rica lover. He contributes with many photos, mainly beetles.

Minor Torres Salazar

Minor is hobby biologist, conservationist, photographer and Co-owner of the "El Copal Biological Reserve". He contributes with incredible photos, mainly birds.

Jim Córdoba

Jim is founder and director of the Insectopia Insect Museum in Puerto Jimenez. He is tour guide and entomologist with special focus on the Peninsula Osa. He contributes with many photos.

Dariel Sanabria Quirós

Dariel is probably the most enthusiastic insect lover with an incredible knowledge on the fauna of Costa Rica. He verifies identifications and contributes many insect photos.

Jorge San Gil León

Jorge is a biology student and assistant of the Zoology Museum of the Universidad de Costa Rica with great knowledge on taxonomy and behavior of freshwater fish. He contributes with content and many fish photos.

Spread the word

We don't have a dedicated marketing budget to promote the app so we rely on happy customers and contributors to help us spread the word. Be it on social media, writing an article or blog post, creating a video, writing a user review, or just telling your friends about it. We are grateful for every contribution you want to make!

Testing & Content Review

Help us test early Alpha/Beta releases and provide feedback. We only have a limited set of devices to test on (every device behaves a bit differently).
Also, when browsing through the content of thousands of species you might find mistakes or have suggestions for extending or updating the content.

Financial Support or Sponsoring

We hope to reach the break-even point within the first three to four years after the initial release but we have many more great ideas for future releases. Providing financial support would help us realize our ideas and professionalize the app even further.
